Medizin als kulturelle und moralische Praxis. Zu den Aufgaben des Medizinethikunterrichts im Medizinstudium
In Germany perhaps more than elsewhere, ethics as a philosophical discipline was understood as a predominantly theoretical endeavour long into the 1970s. The rising popularity of applied ethics and, in particular, medical ethics has changed the scene; a more practical approach and innovative didactics have arrived in the discipline. Due to a reform of the medical curriculum in 2002 and the recommendation of the Academy for Ethics in Medicine for a core curriculum in medical ethics, these developments now have an institutional basis. In this paper, we will inquire about the consequences for the teaching of medical ethics and will give an overview of how medical ethics is taught at Göttingen University Hospital.
