Alzheimer-Demenz. Perspektiven einer integrativen Demenz-Ethik
The number of publications and contributions about dementia of the type Alzheimers disease is steadily increasing. The public discourse is dominated by a particular concept of dementia. This article analyses its contents and investigates its medical origin. With the medical models and concepts their methodological reductionism has entered into the general discourse. It becomes morally influential as anthropological reductionism leading to one-sided estimations. As an alternative this article proposes to look at dementia as a relational event and develop perspectives of an integrative ethics of dementia based on a theological anthropology.
