Eine Frage der Haltung. Die Geist-Gehirn-Frage und ihre Transformation
Neuroscience and neurophilosophy proclaim far-reaching changes in our concepts of free will, responsibility or self. By means of the classic »Bieri-Trilemma« the authors show that these claims make certain ontological and epistemological assumptions often without making them explicit. Mostly, these assumptions cannot be justified solely through neuroscience research; rather, they strongly depend on our respective view of life and the world. Thus, a new question with a primarily practical character gains major significance: the most interest question is not, how we will solve the mind-body-problem, but how we will deal with the fact that we cannot solve it. Different ways of dealing with this fact in neuroscience, medicine and philosophy will be explicated.
