Die psychosoziale Perspektive der Lebendorganspende
Since its beginning living organ donation has raised ethical and psychosocial questions. Due to the shortage of postmortal donor organs a growing number of living donors is needed. To protect the donors interests, psychosocial evaluations should be undertaken. On the basis of clinical experience and empirical research the article presents the goals of psychosocial evaluations and the broad spectrum of issues involved such as the process of decision-making, psychosocial obstacles, and personal as well as social resources, including the handling of negative results.
