The article investigates the changes that the clientele of child and adolescent psychiatry has undergone at the beginning of the 21st century. Transformations within society clearly show their effects. This raises the question whether child and adolescent psychiatry have reacted or been able to react adequately to the new situation. An attempt at presenting an outlook makes suggestions for the future perspective of child and youth psychiatry.
