Ärztliche Tätigkeit unter Finanzierungsvorbehalt Individuelle Gesundheitsleistungen (IGeL) als Ausweg?
Over the last few years, physicians have been complaining about constantly decreasing doctors fees. Individual health services based on out-of-pocket payments are sometimes perceived as a solution to overcome this loss of income. At the same time, the demand for additional therapies not covered by statutory health insurance has strongly increased. This development has led to a situation in which the relationship between »service provider « and »customer« supervenes on the physician-patient relationship. The economic paradigm, however, has clear restrictions. The aspect of »care«, which plays a vital role in health care ethics, cannot be incorporated into the economic model. Apart from any effect on the physician-patient relationship, neglecting these aspects can also alter the perception and the structures of our health care system in general.
