Warum überhaupt ist Suizid ein ethisches Problem? Über Suizid und Suizidbeihilfe
The moral problem of suicide results from the tension between the significance we attach to it and which motivates our efforts of suicide prevention, and the significance we attach to the notion of self-determination. The reductionist position that denies that such a moral problem exists is to be rejected. The right to self-determination does not imply a right to suicide nor to suicide assistance. The latter may perhaps be considered as a borderline case of medical care.
