Den Spielraum des Gesetzes gemäß den Vorstellungen des Guten nutzen. Genealogie und Ansatz der »Christlichen Patientenvorsorge« von 2011 eine Würdigung aus evangelisch-theologischer Perspektive
In order to figure out the scope of the »Christian advance directive« it is worth to read this document against the background of current bioethical developments within the Churches in Germany. A finding of this analysis is: the document is shaped by a compromise, found between two positions. The one is critical about too strictly limiting the range of the advance directives validity; the other is sceptical about living will documents that are not accompanied by other instruments of advance directives. According to this article, the given compromise is backed by an interpretation of self-determination or autonomy based on experiences of relationship. By putting forward this approach on autonomy the Churches look for distance from other interpretations of this ethical concept. While acknowledging the approach the Churches have taken in general the article nevertheless presents some critical remarks on inconsistencies in the train of arguments set up in »the Christian advance directive«.
