Ethische Herausforderungen einer sogenannten Big-Data basierten Medizin
Big-Data appears to change medicine as we are familiar with. On the one hand this transformation is caused by new technological possibilities of Big-Data, which in some instances have already been used, however largely represent promises for the future. But on the other hand, the launch of Big-Data also accelerates a paradigm shift, from a former curative medicine to a primarily predictive-digital one. Furthermore, in the era of Big-Data and especially demonstrated by processes such as data mining, deep learning or self-tracking the familiar distinctions between different domains within society such as medicine, finances, sports or other seem to fade. This article scrutinizes how such predictable changes could be systematically mapped and what kind of possible ethical, epistemological, and societal consequences may come with it. In doing so, the article aims at outlining perspectives for the coping with Big-Data not only, but also in medicine.
