Herausforderungen des (vor-)informierten Patienten an die medizinische Ausbildung
Laypersons increasingly make use of the internet to acquire and communicate health-related information. Therefore, medical doctors are often faced with patients or advice-seeking persons that either show considerable expertise or misinformation. This creates new challenges and conflicts for information, consultation and decision-making. Medical doctors are not adequately prepared to meet patients expectations. Students and doctors should deal with the issue of informed patients, quickly classify patients knowledge and reliability of sources, practice action patterns in typical communication situations and reflect ethical dilemmas. Experience-oriented courses appear to fit the requirement profile of the National Competence-based Catalogue of Learning Objectives for Undergraduate Medical Education (NKLM) effectively.
